Walk Through the Permanent Eyeliner/Lash Enhancement Process

Step 1: The Eyeliner/Lash Enhancement Consultation

To start your permanent eyeliner/lash enhancement journey, it is recommended (but not required) to schedule a consultation before scheduling your procedure. Here we will discuss your desired shape, color, and the overall goal you are looking to achieve. We will also walk through the entire procedure as well as the healing process, easing any anxiety you may have and addressing all of your questions or concerns.

    Step 2: Eyewash & Eyedrops

Before numbing your eyelids for your procedure, we want to make sure your eyes are clean and well protected from the numbing cream and the permanent makeup ink. We will protect your eyes by inserting a series of eyedrops before numbing and a few times during your procedure. First we will insert 2 - 3 eyewash drops into each eye, then we will insert another 2 - 3 lubricating drops into each eye before we move onto numbing.

    Step 3: Numbing

At Inked By Paiz, numbing is included in all of the permanent makeup services. After the series of eyedrops have been inserted into each eye, we will move onto applying numbing cream from the lash line to the top of the eyelid. That will sit anywhere from 40 - 50 minutes to ensure maximum comfort for the beginning of the procedure. After the first pass on the lash line with the tattoo machine, a secondary numbing solution will be added to help maintain your comfortability through the remainder of your appointment.

Step 4: We Begin the Tattoo Process

After determining you numbed successfully, we will begin the tattoo process. This is done with a professional tattoo machine and permanent makeup needles. Using the tattoo machine, ink will be deposited under the skin of the lash line to mimic that of eyeliner. Typically this process takes about 1 - 1 1/2 hours, and usually takes 3 passes with the tattoo machine on each eyelid. After the first pass with the tattoo machine the secondary numbing solution is applied to the lash line to ensure maximum comfort through the rest of the tattooing process.

    Step 5: The Big Reveal

After finishing the tattoo process you will finally get to see your eyeliner/lash enhancement! After you have had the chance to fall in love, we will discuss your aftercare once more and an after care kit will be provided to you.

    FAQ's About Permanent Eyeliner/Lash Enhancements

How long will the results last?

Permanent eyeliner tends to last much longer than other permanent makeup services, how long results last will depend on your lifestyle and skin type. Typically I see people for a touch-up after 2 - 5 years. However, lash enhancements don't last as long as eyeliner, this is because it is an extremely thin line connecting each lash. Due to the thinness of the line, lash enhancements tend to last 1 - 3 years.

What does the healing process look like?

Right after the procedure and the next day or two following, the lash line may appear a little swollen, but that swelling will go down. A scab will form that will last anywhere from 1 - 2 weeks, you can NOT pick at this scab. After the 3rd week your eyeliner will look like it is completely healed, but it will take a full 6 weeks before it has finished healing.

Who would make a good candidate?

If you are tired of applying eyeliner every day, or want your natural lashes to appear thicker, permanent eyeliner or a permanent lash enhancement is definitely an option for you!

Who should avoid getting a permanent lash enhancement or permanent eyeliner?

    - Pregnant or breastfeeding women

    - Those with transmittable blood conditions such as HIV or Hepatitis

    - Individuals with active infections

    - Individuals with active skin conditions in the treatment area (such as cancer or eczema)

    - Those with scleroderma
