Walk Through The Semi-Permanent Freckle Procedure

Step 1: The Semi-Permanent Freckle Consultation

To start your semi-permanent freckle journey, it is recommended (but not required) to schedule a consultation before your procedure. Here we will discuss your desired color and the overall look you are trying to achieve. We will also walk through the entire procedure as well as the healing process, easing any anxiety you may have and addressing all of your questions or concerns.

Step 2: Numbing

At Inked By Paiz, numbing is included in all of the permanent makeup services. When you arrive for your freckle appointment, the first thing we do is apply a topical numbing cream to the treatment areas. That will sit anywhere from 20 - 30 minutes to ensure maximum comfort for the beginning of the procedure. After the first pass of freckles with the tattoo machine, a secondary numbing solution will be added to help maintain your comfortability through the remainder of your appointment.

Step 3: Mapping

After you have finished numbing, we will map out your freckles. This is done by drawing on each and every freckle with your guidance for placement, this is to ensure you will be pleased with the finished look. After the mapping is complete you will have the opportunity to change anything about the freckle placement to fit your desired look before starting the tattoo process.

Step 4: We Begin the Tattoo Process

After determining you are numb and have successfully been mapped, we will begin the tattoo process. This is done with a professional tattoo machine and permanent makeup needles. Using the tattoo machine, ink will be deposited under the skin to mimic that of natural freckles. Typically this process takes about 1 hour depending on the amount of freckles being tattooed, and usually takes 2 passes with the tattoo machine on each freckle. After the first pass with the tattoo machine the secondary numbing solution is applied to the freckles to ensure maximum comfort through the rest of the tattooing process.

Step 5: The Big Reveal

After finishing the tattoo process you will finally get to see your new freckles! After you have had the chance to fall in love with them, we will discuss your aftercare once more and an after care kit will be provided to you.

How long will the results last?

Typically it will be about 1 year after your appointment before you will need to touch-up your freckles. This will also depend of the style of freckles you choose and the color of pigment used.

What does the healing process look like?

After the procedure, the freckles will scab, this scab can last anywhere from 1-2 weeks. About 3 weeks after the procedure your freckles will appear to be healed, but they won't be done healing until 6 weeks after your appointment.
